Tornado Story

Do you have a tornado story? Or insight into these extreme weather events?

Tornadoes can have a wide range of colours, depending on the environment in which they form. Those which form in a dry environment can be nearly invisible, marked only by swirling debris at the base of the funnel. Most tornadoes have wind speeds of 177 kmh (110 mph) or less, are approximately 75m (250 feet) across, and travel a several kilometres (a few miles) before dissipating. Some attain wind speeds of more than 400 kmh (250 mph), stretch more than 1.6 km (a mile) across, and stay on the ground for any kilometres.

These are some of the facts...

But now it's your turn. A tornado experience is a subjective thing. And not every tornado is terrifying but it is your experience. So please share your tornado story...
