Shock Of My Life

by Tammara Wellington
(Tornado Alley United States)

I live in tornado alley and on march 13 1990 I got home from school and walked my dog around the streets near my house. I was walking and things seemed to get darker and darker and then I saw this funnel reaching the ground a few minutes away I looked at it for a moment untill I realized what was going on and my dog was barking in that direction it took a few minutes to get home but as soon as I was about to go into my house it sounded like a train getting closer and closer.

I was crying I went in the house holding my dog as he was my best friend, I toook my bird with me as it is my best friend also. I hid under my computer table and peeked out to see how it looked when the tornado was coming towards us. My parents were at work so I couldn't keep crying I had to be brave and I was. I quickly ran towards my cupboard where food was I hid in the bottom bit.

Soon it stopped and I looked out to see nearly every thing in my house brocken but I stayed alive. When my mum came home she was crying but she had to stay in her work or she could have been killed we all survived including my best friends so just because its a tornado dosent mean they're harmless.
