Will We Make It?

A tornado similar to the shape of mine.

It had started out as an ordinary day. The sunny heat was making sweat run down my bare neck. I was playing basketball with my cousin, Trisha. My mom was at the corner store, and my father was working. I finally went inside when it started raining and darkening.

Trisha and I were curious about the weather, but we just flicked on the tv. The wind and rain started to pick up. Our program was interupted by a tornado warning. We knew that it was silly to think about a tornado here! I mean when has there ever been a tornado here? But we were wrong. Later it was pitch black and a lighting storm had started. We heard a noise and the power went out,but was flickering. It said that the tornado was sighted. But it was cut off by the power outage. My father was still on the road and my mother had gone to aunt’s house! We had to hide. I hid in the bathroom with Trisha. We layed in the bathtub and held each other for dear mercy. We heard glass shatter and trees crash against the building with force, with it, everything fell on the floor.

We toppled over and felt the violent shaking and crashing. I heard a small bark and remembered Cloud, my little collie dog. I sprinted out the bathroom and grabbed Cloud. I saw my house didn’t look like a house anymore. Debris was trashing the floor and walls and the windows were shattered. Cloud and I raced into the bathroom. We knew it had been a few minutes, but it felt like hours. After a long minutes wait, the tornado seemed to have past us. Our parents did turn up and we, after a long time, got the house back to it’s nice self.
