Illinois Tornado

I am 12 years old, and until June 6 2008 I've never had a tornado before. That day I came home from Boy Scout Camp, in the St. Louis, Missouri area, and my mom told me we had a tornado warning. We rushed home, and while she unpacked my Boy Scout supplies and clothes, I became a weather spotter. About fifteen minute after coming home I spotted a tornado, or I should say a funnel cloud, touching down. We hurried to the basement just as hail started to pound down. The electricity went off, but we never heard the tornado. When it was over we came upstairs, and we saw the tornado in its rope stage, out to the west of us. It was long, slender and black, and it dissipated within a few minutes, but while it was there it was really scary. It wasn't over though, and soon we were under a tornado warning again. I didn't see a tornado that time, but I did see a huge wall cloud out to the west. The second storm passed over in a matter of minutes, though, and then it was over completely. While it lasted, it was really scary, and both my mom and I were frightened, but we made it through okay, thank God.
