The Tornado

by Christina
(Pine Ridge)

April, 17 2006,
The day started out sunny and breezy. By evening though it was clustered with clouds and they were issueing severe thunderstorm warnings for our area. By 9:00 it was reall windy that it was just picking up dirt and flinging it across the yard. The next thing I knew the window blew in and i ran to the kitchen. The lights went off and i turned to go the other way. I saw my cousin Faron. Then i was thrown to the floor. I covered my head with hands and hoped everyone was alright. I could hear the other kids screaming. When the trailer stopped moving and making sounds... i got up and there wasn't anything there... The trailer was torn up literally. there wasn't anything left. the kids only got minor cuts and bruises. i got some electric and hot water burns and my aunt broke her leg. The worst of it was that my cousin didn't survive. He died when he was crushed by the fridge. That was the most saddest and scariest day of my 13 year old life. and it still is. now i get scared of storms of any kind. i miss faron alot. i wish this never happened...
